About the role
This role involves performing experiments to evaluate liquid filtration and purification products in Metrology Labs and developing new analytical analysis methods to evaluate different filter and purifier materials.
What you'll do
- Prepare samples and perform trace level metals test by ICP-MS.
- Support the senior scientist on developing new method for detection of sub 20 nm particles using single nanoparticle ICP-MS.
- Design and Perform method alignment with other labs.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations for optimizing testing method.
- Maintain accurate records and document the new testing method.
- Present project progress in group meetings.
What you'll need
- Experience in handling chemicals, operating laboratory equipment, generating and interpreting data.
- Currently enrolled student.
- Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June.
- Familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of nanoparticles.
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry basics.
- Knowledge in ICP-MS.
