About the role

This role is responsible for the mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of robotics and mechatronics products within the centralized Global Product Engineering Group. The technical focus centers on semiconductor equipment automation, including VORTEX wafer handling robots, process chamber mechanisms, and smart devices.

What you'll do

• Execute mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of robotics and mechatronics products across multiple product groups.
• Work within cross-functional, multidiscipline technical teams to develop comprehensive product specifications, evaluate performance, and deliver solutions.
• Utilize internal rapid prototyping and spend hands-on time in the mechatronics lab working with physical products.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure components meet manufacturing feasibility, performance, and cost objectives.
• Develop test criteria and automated test equipment to support product transitions to high-volume manufacturing.
• Conduct failure analysis using 8D methodology and follow design review processes to prepare technical data and invention disclosures.

What you'll need

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years of related experience with a Master’s degree.
• Proficiency using 3D CAD tools such as CREO or NX.
• Analytical and modeling experience conducting simulations using FEA applications such as Creo Simulation or COMSOL.
• Hands-on experience designing test stands, instrumenting, and performing data acquisition.
• Familiarity with machining practices, sheetmetal fabrication, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and rapid prototyping methods.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, industrial automation, or sensing and computer vision.
