The Mechanical Engineering Co-op supports the design, development, testing, and documentation of ultra-high-purity (UHP) gas purification systems.
About the role
This role supports the design, development, testing, and documentation of ultra-high-purity (UHP) gas purification systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. You will assist with CAD modeling, engineering drawings, bill of material management, prototype testing, data analysis, and technical documentation.
What you'll do
- Mechanical design activities (3D modeling, drafting) in Solidworks - Evaluate component performance - Assist with pressure vessel and piping system documentation - Conduct laboratory testing - Troubleshoot hardware issues - Implement engineering change requests
What you'll need
- Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field - Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) - Basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer - Proficiency with Excel and basic engineering calculations - Currently enrolled student - Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
