About the role
This role involves identifying and troubleshooting mechanical problems, performing engineering analysis, and designing mechanical layouts, schematics, and specifications.
What you'll do
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems, developing layouts, schematics, or engineering drawings and specifications of difficult scope. - Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering test reports while conducting engineering analysis with limited supervision. - Design, develop, and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes for parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. - Technically lead or execute projects, develop key suppliers, and generate mechanical product specifications. - Implement concepts for complex product issues and mechanical solutions, specifying and reviewing engineering documentation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. - 4-7 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience. - Demonstrated experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, and sheet metal design. - Demonstrated experience with material selection, manufacturing methods, and GD&T. - Demonstrated experience with flow analysis and/or Design for Excellence principles.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the Applied Materials product life cycle, including prototyping, packaging, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
