About the role
As a Mechanical Engineer - Electronics Packaging specialist, you will specify, design, develop, realize, integrate, and test modules and tools in a multi-disciplined team.
What you'll do
- Design and document all aspects of the electrical infrastructure including AC, DC, main power distribution, interconnect cables, bundles, connectors, electronic racks, cabinets, and control consoles.
- Perform complex technical design work within your discipline.
- Conduct research and feasibility studies, document findings, and translate results into recommendations and tradeoffs.
- Define and communicate specifications and high-level designs, align interfaces, and support reviews and approvals.
- Plan and execute component level testing, sub-module integration, module level integration, and system level integration.
- Estimate effort, plan and track work, manage risks and dependencies, and deliver assigned work packages or projects.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience designing electronic enclosure assemblies and in sheet metal design.
- Experience designing for manufacturability (DFM) and developing assembly work instructions for low to medium volume products.
- Experience with 3D solid modeling for design conceptualization and realization.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards (NEC 70, NFPA 79, Machine Tool Standards).
- Working knowledge of wiring diagrams and schematic diagrams, and design drafting best practices including geometric dimensioning.
Nice to have
- Experience using NX for 3D CAD.
- Experience using Teamcenter for DMS.
- Experience using SAP for ERP.
- Knowledge of FEA.
