Design mechanical systems for Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) inspection systems.

About the role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design and develop mechanical subsystems and components for Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) inspection systems. This role focuses on the mechanical aspects of advanced metrology and inspection products.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop mechanical subsystems and components, including vacuum chambers, transition chambers, and precision structures.
  • Translate system requirements into mechanical concepts, specifications, and detailed designs.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Apply GD&T and perform tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure fit, alignment, and producibility.
  • Perform engineering analyses, including structural, thermal, vibration, and stiffness evaluations.
  • Develop mechanical solutions addressing contamination, particle generation, thermal stability, vibration, and reliability.

What you'll need

  • Master's degree with 3 years of work experience or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing complex mechanical systems, precision assemblies, or vacuum equipment.
  • Knowledge of vacuum-system design principles, vacuum-compatible materials, and sealing technologies.
  • Proficiency with a 3D CAD platform such as Creo, NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, mechanical drawings, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with structural, thermal, or vibration analysis and the ability to interpret analysis and test results.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing prototypes and executing design verification or qualification testing.
  • Working knowledge of DFM, DFA, DFS, DFR, FMEA/FMECA, RCCA, or 8D methods.
  • Experience working with suppliers on custom mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, precision instrumentation, vacuum equipment, aerospace, or medical devices.
