This role involves supervising employees in production and/or operation functions related to the manufacturing of capital equipment and systems, electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, components, subassemblies, and subsystems.
What you'll do
- Supervise employees involved in production and/or operation functions.
- Prioritize production schedules based on available manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity, and materials requirements.
- Support the development and tracking of organization performance metrics and manage cycle time performance.
- Ensure timely response to operations issues impacting customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the prevention of employee accidents and injuries, and monitor compliance with safety policies.
- Develop personnel through training, career development, and performance management.
- Analyze and plan for maximum production capacity optimization.
- Identify process and quality changes to improve manufacturing capabilities and drive Lean, Safety, and Quality initiatives.
What you'll need
- Demonstrated understanding and application of procedures and concepts within the job family.
- Ability to apply understanding of how the team relates to other closely related areas to improve efficiency.
- Formal supervisory experience, setting priorities and coaching employees to meet daily deadlines.
- Judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
- Ability to impact the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team.
- Tact and diplomacy to exchange information and handle sensitive issues, including interaction with outside customers, vendors, or suppliers.
- Ability to work in an environment that may require standing, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and distinguishing between colors.
- Capability to work in an environment with noise and use of hand and power tools.
- Readiness to work in a clean room, requiring use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
