About the role
This role supports the manufacturing, integration, and continuous improvement of semiconductor capital equipment. You will collaborate across Systems, Mechanical, Optics, Software, and Manufacturing teams to support new product introduction (NPI), continuous improvement projects (CIP), and production issue resolution.
What you'll do
- Support manufacturing and NPI activities for capital equipment to transition new designs into repeatable manufacturing processes. - Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot build, integration, and test issues. - Develop and maintain best known methods (BKMs), manufacturing procedures, and work instructions for subassemblies and final system assembly. - Apply Design for Manufacturability (DfM) principles to improve product quality, manufacturability, and serviceability. - Perform failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action for manufacturing and product issues. - Analyze manufacturing and test data using MES, statistical methods, and process control techniques, and use tools such as Python to automate data workflows.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience, Master's degree with 3 years of related experience, or a Doctorate with 0 years in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Optics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. - Hands-on engineering experience supporting the manufacturing, integration, assembly, test, or troubleshooting of equipment or electromechanical systems. - Experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation. - Familiarity with root cause analysis, failure analysis, corrective action, and structured problem-solving techniques. - Experience working with manufacturing data, statistical analysis, or process control methods. - Exposure to Python, scripting, data analytics, or automation tools used to improve engineering or manufacturing workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, scientific instrumentation, precision equipment, or other complex systems. - Exposure to optics, optical assemblies, or opto-mechanical systems. - Familiarity with equipment operating in a Linux-based environment. - Experience with MES, manufacturing databases, SPC, or similar manufacturing systems. - Understanding of DfM, NPI, configuration management, or manufacturing process development.
