About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will develop and maintain methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You will apply engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements.

What you'll do

  • Develop, implement, validate, and maintain manufacturing methods, process flows, assembly procedures, and operation sequences.
  • Support new product transition by partnering with Design Engineering, NPI, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure manufacturability, scalability, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, waste elimination, ergonomics improvements, and capacity enhancements using Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Develop manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, control plans, process maps, visual aids, and training materials.
  • Lead and participate in structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, and Failure Analysis techniques.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with Applied Materials quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, production, process engineering, industrial engineering, or New Product Introduction environments.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering documentation, mechanical assemblies, and production operations.
  • Experience analyzing data and using problem-solving methodologies to investigate manufacturing or quality-related issues.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice to have

  • Internship, co-op, or industry experience in semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, automotive, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and engineering change documentation.
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent manufacturing systems.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools, process capability studies, and Manufacturing Quality Systems.
  • Understanding of PFMEA, DFMEA, control plans, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
