About the role
The Manual Machinist III is responsible for performing tasks related to producing components used in Ultra High Purity Systems in San Luis Obispo, CA.
What you'll do
- Operate manual engine lathes to produce components through turning, boring, facing, drilling, and cut-off operations.
- Operate manual vertical milling machines to perform facing, slotting, drilling, and simple angle cuts according to engineering specifications.
- Inspect parts using calipers, OD and ID micrometers, telescoping gauges, and radius gauges.
- Work from instructions, drawings, and lists of tube diameters and lengths using SAP.
- Grind basic tool bits and manually sharpen drills.
- Complete 6S responsibilities (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) and maintain a clean work environment.
What you'll need
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5-10 years of experience in manual machining.
- Ability to navigate through an ERP system to locate drawings and instructions.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs daily and stand for extended periods of time.
- Dependability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends to support business needs.
