About the role
Supervises manufacturing operations and production personnel producing capital equipment, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems and subassemblies.
What you'll do
- Supervise personnel across assembly, inspection, test, and final test functions for capital equipment and subsystems.
- Prioritize production schedules according to manpower availability, equipment efficiency, capacity, and materials requirements.
- Track organizational performance metrics, conduct milestone meetings, and execute initiatives to meet or improve cycle time.
- Analyze cost of quality opportunities, address operations issues impacting customer satisfaction, and initiate corrective actions.
- Support production capacity optimization and deploy Lean, Safety, and Quality improvements across manufacturing processes.
- Manage hiring, performance management, training, career development, and Environmental, Health and Safety compliance.
What you'll need
- Supervisory experience directing teams in production operations to meet daily manufacturing deadlines.
- Practical experience with production scheduling, capacity optimization, and cycle time tracking.
- Experience driving Lean manufacturing, safety compliance, and quality corrective actions.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% for at least 6 months (alternating 2-week stays at domestic worksites and Austin, TX) prior to basing in Austin, TX.
- Ability to work in clean room environments requiring Personal Protective Equipment including coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and respirators.
Nice to have
- 5+ years managing direct reports in a manufacturing setting.
