This role is focused on developing high-assurance security devices for government customers within AWS.
About the role
This role involves managing a team of Hardware Design Engineers, FPGA/Programmable Logic Engineers, and Firmware Engineers to develop high-assurance security devices for government customers within AWS. You will own the full hardware development lifecycle from architecture to production for these security devices.
What you'll do
- Set the technical vision and multi-generational roadmap for hardware and FPGA development.
- Make architectural decisions on FPGA platform selection, board design, and hardware-software partitioning.
- Own hardware and FPGA platform development from architecture through schematic design, PCB layout, prototype, and qualification.
- Lead design reviews and drive technical consensus across hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software teams.
- Drive hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing infrastructure and CI/CD for FPGA development.
- Manage and grow a diverse team spanning hardware design engineering, FPGA/programmable logic, and firmware.
What you'll need
- US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
- Technical depth to engage meaningfully with complex technical problems across signal integrity, power integrity, FPGA timing closure, thermal management, or hardware security.
Nice to have
- Experience setting technical vision and architectural direction for hardware security platforms.
- Experience with FPGA architectures, board-level design, and hardware-enforced security boundaries.
- Experience with DFx principles (Design for Test, Manufacturing, Cost, and Compliance).
