About the role

Samsung Semiconductor is seeking a DRAM Product Planning Manager to drive customer adoption and secure customer design-ins for DRAM-based memory solutions across applications including automotive, server, mobile, and AI/HPC. The role defines architecture and specifications for custom HBM (HBM4+) and manages the execution lifecycle from initial design-in to final qualification.

What you'll do

  • Establish and govern a co-development framework that synchronizes customer hardware roadmaps with Samsung's memory technology pipeline.
  • Collaborate with customer architects to co-define product specifications, interfaces, and feature sets, feeding architectural insights back to internal R&D.
  • Facilitate collaborative engineering debugging and troubleshooting to resolve technical hurdles during evaluation, qualification, and mass production.
  • Plan active logic base-dies that integrate core IP, including memory controllers, advanced RAS, and processing elements.
  • Manage execution milestones across sales, marketing, R&D, and QA from design-in and validation through mass production transition.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related Physical Science with 10+ years of experience, a Master's degree with 8+ years, or a PhD with 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of DRAM design and architecture, system-level operations (RAS, memory controller, memory PHY), and product support.
  • Background in SI/PI (Signal/Power Integrity) and timing measurements.
  • Familiarity with fab processes, semiconductor manufacturing, and advanced packaging, including deep understanding of 2.5D/3D integration (TSV, micro-bumping, and hybrid bonding).
  • Experience defining architecture and specifications for custom HBM (HBM4+) and customized interfaces such as Die-to-Die PHY for bespoke architectures.
  • Track record collaborating with foundries (TSMC, Samsung Foundry, or Intel Foundry advanced nodes) and design houses for custom silicon development.
