About the role
This role involves the machining of graphite, silicon carbides, and other specialty materials following detailed blueprints, customer specifications, and internal work instructions.
What you'll do
- Operate hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and computers for machining.
- Operate powered machine tools including vertical CNC mills, manual and CNC lathes, surface and centerless grinders, cup grinders, and bandsaws.
- Perform machine setups and/or operate equipment.
- Complete machining tasks within a customer job.
- Perform initial setup on new parts.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing guidelines.
What you'll need
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Math and precision measurement skills and ability to read machine drawings.
- Advanced knowledge of machining methods.
- Astute attention to detail.
- Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work any shift as required to meet business needs.
Nice to have
- Experience in working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment.
