About the role
This role involves the safe operation of shop tools to produce prototype and production parts, as well as modifications and repairs to existing parts and assemblies.
What you'll do
- Safely operate major shop tools, including Forklift and Cranes, to produce prototype and production parts.
- Support in-house customers such as manufacturing, engineering, and business units.
- Utilize Work Orders, blueprints, sketches, and instructions to determine machining processes and tooling requirements.
- Perform machining and/or assembly tasks using standard machine shop equipment like surface grinders, drill presses, and band saws.
- Plan and execute complex machine set-ups, applying trigonometry for accurate angle calculations.
- Nest parts to maximize material efficiency and reduce waste.
What you'll need
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 4 - 7 Years of experience.
- Proficiency in a range of processes or procedures for assigned tasks.
- Ability to provide solutions to problems in atypical situations based on existing precedents.
- Ability to regularly exchange information using communication skills.
