About the role
This role serves as a key technical leader responsible for the successful introduction and sustained production support of semiconductor products, managing the transition from design completion to high-volume manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Lead engineering activities for New Product Introduction (NPI), managing the transfer from design to internal and outsourced manufacturing.
- Define and validate product characterization plans, perform initial yield analysis, and drive early-stage yield improvement efforts for production ramp-up.
- Oversee qualification of new products, review qualification data, and ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards.
- Provide production support, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions for product failures, yield excursions, maverick lots, and customer returns.
- Develop and execute engineering changes to reduce production costs, enhance product quality, and increase manufacturing yields using statistical methods including SPC, DOE, FMEA, and MSA.
- Partner with foundries, assembly houses, test houses, and cross-functional teams in Design, Process, Test, Reliability, and Manufacturing.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering within the semiconductor industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing NPI activities from design transfer to high-volume production.
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis tools (such as JMP or Minitab) and methodologies including SPC, DOE, FMEA, and MSA.
- Hands-on experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and test program development or debug.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics, wafer fabrication, assembly, test processes, electrical schematics, and failure analysis reports.
- Familiarity with quality and reliability standards, such as AEC-Q100 for automotive products.
