Perform electrical failure analysis and defect isolation using OBIRCH and EMMI in the Analog Circuit Analysis Lab.
About the role
As a Product Engineer in the Analog Circuit Analysis Lab, you will analyze and determine the root cause of electrical failures and recommend corrective actions to support new technology development, product ramp, and technology transfers. You will work across disciplines including analog circuit analysis and design, test and characterization, device physics, and semiconductor technology.
What you'll do
- Build test setups to electrically verify failures and probe internal nets on integrated circuits. - Operate global isolation tools including OBIRCH and EMMI to isolate defects. - Perform electrical characterization of MOS and bipolar semiconductor devices as well as analog integrated circuits. - Execute the failure analysis flow to determine root causes and deliver findings and corrective recommendations via final reports. - Utilize varied test and characterization equipment across the lab to support product and technology teams.
What you'll need
- Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering field. - Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.
Nice to have
- Coursework in analog circuit design, semiconductor processing, process control methodology, or device failure analysis. - Proficiency with bench level test equipment including DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters. - Programming experience with Python, LabView, Spotfire, MATLAB, VBA (Excel), or C++.

How we counted: 223 open Failure Analysis Engineering (Failure Analysis) roles from 41 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 29 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Process, Fab & Equipment family row.
