About the role
This internship supports Infineon's System Application Engineering team in developing technical collateral, analyzing CRM data, preparing expert BOMs, and building simulation models for power-conversion applications.
What you'll do
- Support the creation and maintenance of application-level technical materials, including solution overviews, comparison tables, design references, and engineering documentation.
- Support CRM data analysis to identify customer requirements, application trends, and opportunities for system-level technical support.
- Support the generation and maintenance of expert BOMs by mapping system requirements and power-conversion functions to suitable semiconductor solutions.
- Build and maintain simulation models for selected power-conversion topologies and reference designs using tools such as PLECS, MATLAB, and/or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS.
- Compare simulation results with bench-test results and support model validation together with application engineering teams.
- Support the modeling and analysis of power-conversion architectures used in AI data center power delivery systems, including AC/DC, DC/DC, intermediate bus, battery backup, and rack-level power architectures.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, Automation, or related fields.
- Good understanding of power electronics fundamentals and common AC/DC and DC/DC converter topologies.
- Experience with at least one simulation environment; PLECS and MATLAB/Simulink are preferred.
- Familiarity with common laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, and power supplies.
- Basic programming, data-processing, or AI-assisted engineering workflow skills using tools such as Python, MATLAB, Excel, or similar platforms.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulation, including porting embedded code into simulation models for validation.

How we counted: 47 open Power Electronics (Power Conversion) roles from 21 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 8 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
