About the role
The Software Development Engineer in Test Intern role is part of the Software Foundation organization in San Diego, developing automated test frameworks and infrastructure to maintain software release quality. In this role, you will design, develop, and improve test automation solutions supporting complex software systems in an Agile environment.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases using C++, Python, and related technologies. - Support verification and validation activities for software systems in an Agile development environment. - Contribute to continuous integration workflows by creating and improving automated testing solutions. - Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and robust test automation components. - Analyze test results and investigate software issues to help improve product quality. - Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define and validate software requirements.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum of two years completed toward a bachelor's degree. - Experience through coursework, projects, research, or internships involving software development. - Programming experience in C++, Python, or similar programming languages. - Familiarity with software development and testing in Linux, VxWorks, or other operating system environments. - Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required personal protective equipment when necessary.

- Exposure to distributed systems, automation frameworks, or software verification.
