About the role
This role involves optimizing semiconductor growth processes by leveraging metrology data to drive process stability and control.
What you'll do
- Assist in developing automated recipe adjustment workflows using metrology outputs (PL and XRD) for automatic process corrections.
- Perform engineering measurements and analyses, including defect analysis, Photoluminescence (PL), and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), to evaluate epitaxial layer quality.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to draft and update MOCVD standard operating procedures (SOPs) for process control and systematic troubleshooting.
- Utilize statistical methods to correlate metrology data with reactor performance, identifying trends that impact yield and wafer uniformity.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD degree program in semiconductor, electrical, optical, physical, or a related major.
- Foundational knowledge of concepts, tools, or methods relevant to the internship.
- Demonstrated ability to apply classroom learning through coursework, projects, laboratory work, research, or other relevant experience.
- Available for the full internship period.
Nice to have
- Solid understanding of textbook physics and engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with semiconductor epitaxy and/or characterization techniques (MBE, MOCVD, XRD, PL, or SEM).
- Strong technical writing skills.
