About the role

Field Process Engineer Interns gain hands-on experience supporting process development, optimization, qualification, and troubleshooting activities for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The role involves contributing to a defined technical project while collaborating with customer engineering teams, global product groups, and R&D organizations.

What you'll do

• Support process development, optimization, characterization, and troubleshooting activities on semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Assist with the design, execution, and analysis of experiments to evaluate process performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Participate in equipment evaluations, process qualifications, and engineering testing activities.
• Gain hands-on exposure to thin-film deposition, semiconductor processing, vacuum systems, equipment operation, and process characterization.
• Investigate process and equipment issues alongside engineers using structured problem-solving techniques.
• Document experimental results, technical findings, and recommendations, culminating in a presentation of project results at internship conclusion.

What you'll need

• Enrollment in an engineering or technical degree program related to semiconductor manufacturing or materials science.
• Foundational coursework or interest in thin-film deposition, vacuum systems, or semiconductor processing.
• Ability to assist with the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
• Analytical capability to evaluate experimental and process data to identify trends and relationships.
• Ability to work in a customer-facing engineering environment and participate in technical project meetings.
