About the role
As an Applications Engineering Intern in the Data Center Solutions Business Unit, you will assist the Applications team in developing tools and demos, board bring-up and debugging, setting up lab equipment, assisting in customer collaterals, embedded firmware debug/development, and technical support.
What you'll do
- Set up lab equipment including installation of OS, Drivers, tools, debuggers, and analyzers.
- Bring up and debug customer evaluation boards.
- Develop and maintain customer collaterals, custom firmware, and diagnostic tools.
- Recreate, collect, analyze, debug, and root cause customer reported problems in a lab environment.
- Develop and provide product training to customers and internal teams.
- Demonstrate new product features and capabilities in industry events and trade shows.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in a BS or MS Electrical/Computer/Computer Science Engineering program.
- Basic understanding of computer architecture.
- Programming experience in C, C++, TCL/Tk, Python, or Java.
- Good troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Good writing and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with installing OSes (Linux and Windows), setting up hardware and drivers.
- Strong knowledge or experience in NVMe, PCI-Express, SAS, SATA, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, DDR, NAND Flash, UART, or SPI.
- Experience with board-level debug & bring-up.
- Experience with HW design, schematics capture, and board layout.
- Experience with driver development / embedded FW development.
