About the role

This role as an Applications Engineer in the High Speed Data Converters (HSC) Product line focuses on understanding end equipment at the system level to define and design reference designs for core businesses within HSC.

What you'll do

• Provide support to early design in activities for new products.
• Create and design reference design boards and evaluation modules based on end equipment like software defined radio, phased-array radar, and RF instrumentation.
• Define reference designs to grow the market by understanding market needs and industry standards.
• Complete PCB schematic, layout, FPGA firmware, and embedded software for reference designs.
• Answer customer questions, support design-in activities, and debug customer problems.
• Drive new silicon testing from an application perspective to ensure product robustness and system integration.

What you'll need

• BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of study.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Analog/RF systems, SW Automation, Mixed-signal PCB, or Systems integration.
• Good understanding of RF and microwave components, systems, and measurements.
• Knowledge of measurements techniques and experience in interpreting measurement results.
• RF board issues debugging skills.
• Experience in high-speed signal processing (digital up/down conversion, digital filtering, equalization, frequency planning, beamforming).
• Laboratory automation skills with Python automation.
• High speed mixed signal PCB debug skills including digital data bus, data signal integrity, diagnostic of bit errors, and hand-shaking protocol errors.
• Experience in RF network matching & optimization, high-speed PCB design, RF modeling expertise using Ansys toolkit (HFSS, SiWave).
• Skill set in either board level integration or device-to-device level integration.

Nice to have

• Experiences in PCI-E, JESD204, Ethernet, HDMI/Display Port.
