Build custom-designed Infinity Data Fabric coherent interconnects connecting CPU, GPU, and accelerator architectures.
About the role
As a member of the Infinity Fabric Architecture and RTL team, you will help build coherent interconnects to provide connectivity between CPU, GPU, and special purpose accelerators. Every product that AMD sells includes its own custom-designed Infinity Data Fabric across server, client, graphics, and machine intelligence markets.
What you'll do
- Drive early architectural and performance exploration through micro-architectural definition and design. - Optimize designs to meet power, performance, area, and timing requirements. - Write readable and synthesizable Verilog RTL. - Run unit-level testing and deliver verified code to the Design Verification team. - Create assertions to improve coverage and cover points to analyze coverage of the design. - Author block-level design documentation and participate in post-silicon functional and performance debug and tuning.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). - Professional experience in RTL design and digital electronics. - Experience with synthesizable Verilog development. - Experience defining micro-architecture and addressing power, performance, area, and timing constraints.
Nice to have
- Experience designing logic blocks in CPU, GPU, NOC, or cache designs. - Knowledge of Verilog and System Verilog. - Working knowledge of C, C++, and scripting languages such as Perl or Python. - Understanding of digital electronics and high-speed designs (>1GHz). - Understanding of multi-processor coherency, memory ordering, i/o ordering, interrupts, MMU, and caches. - Exposure to Design for Test, scan concepts, and writing DFT-friendly RTL, or working knowledge of x86 or ARM ISA.

How we counted: 1078 open Digital/RTL Design (RTL Design) roles from 103 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 23 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row. Figures refresh nightly.
