About the role
The Industrial Engineer supports semiconductor manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining factory performance models, identifying capacity constraints, and driving improvements in cycle time and throughput. This role collaborates with manufacturing, process engineering, equipment maintenance, and planning teams to ensure factory resources are effectively utilized to meet production targets.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and improve factory capacity models to support short-term production planning and long-range manufacturing strategy.
- Analyze factory loading, utilization, and bottlenecks to ensure optimal use of manufacturing resources.
- Perform cycle time analysis and modeling to identify improvement opportunities and support operational decision-making.
- Monitor and report factory performance metrics, including throughput, utilization, availability, and work-in-process levels.
- Support line balancing and dispatching strategies to improve flow and reduce cycle time.
- Identify capacity constraints and collaborate with engineering teams to implement solutions such as tool installations and process improvements.
- Provide analytical support for capital planning and equipment capacity requirements.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a semiconductor fabrication facility in Industrial Engineering, manufacturing engineering, or factory operations support.
- Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and fab operations.
- Experience with capacity planning, cycle time analysis, factory performance metrics, and bottleneck management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering analysis tools used to evaluate manufacturing performance.
- Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, process engineering, and production planning teams.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) such as PROMIS or similar fab systems.
- Experience with factory simulation, tool modeling, or capacity planning tools.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, and advanced scheduling/dispatching methodologies.
- Experience supporting high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environments.
