About the role
As an IC CAD Engineer at AMD, you will be responsible for supporting the Cadence Virtuoso platform in a custom design environment. You will verify setups for new technology enablement, collaborate with vendors, provide user support, and enable AI agents across CAD areas.
What you'll do
- Set up and maintain Cadence Virtuoso schematic and layout features. - Write and improve Cadence SKILL scripts. - Work with vendors and designers to evaluate and deploy new features. - Build regression testbenches to maintain CAD tool and flow quality. - Provide technical support and training to users across multiple sites. - Enhance overall user experience through AI agent integration.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. - Experience with custom design and verification flows. - Analytical and problem-solving skills for supporting CAD tool flows and multi-site design teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with Virtuoso schematic/layout. - Experience with developing Virtuoso utilities. - Experience with Cadence SKILL language. - Experience with creating AI agents using Claude Code or any equivalent AI agentic tool. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Cadence SKILL, Perl, Python, and Tcl.
