About the role
This role defines and builds integrated robotic systems that bring together diverse forms of intelligence under real-world constraints of latency, power, and safety. You will lead the design and realization of end-to-end robotic systems across multiple embodiments, translating system bottlenecks into requirements for Arm architectures.
What you'll do
- Define system architectures that integrate perception, reasoning, planning, and control. - Lead end-to-end system bring-up, integration, and validation across robotic platforms. - Drive execution of system-level milestones including baseline, benchmarking, prototypes, and full systems. - Coordinate across ML, perception, control, and systems to ensure coherent integration. - Translate system bottlenecks into requirements for Arm compute and software platforms. - Collaborate across Arm and external partners to ground research in real-world use cases.
What you'll need
- Strong experience in robotics systems integration and architecture. - Expertise in robotics middleware such as ROS2 and distributed systems. - Experience building and deploying end-to-end robotic systems. - Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python. - Demonstrated ability to lead cross-domain efforts in ambiguous, research-driven environments. - Publications in research venues.
Nice to have
- Experience with heterogeneous compute including CPU, GPU, NPU, and MCU. - Experience with multi-robot or distributed systems. - Background spanning both research and production systems.

How we counted: 508 open AI/ML Hardware Engineering (AI ML Hardware) roles from 76 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 22 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Software, Firmware & Systems family row. Figures refresh nightly.
