About the role
As a GPU Hardware Security Architect in the GPU Architecture team, you will help define GPU security architecture across AI/ML, Compute, and Discrete Gaming products. The position drives security features that protect register access, firmware interfaces, configuration controls, and sensitive customer data.
What you'll do
- Architect GPU IP features that protect register access and sensitive customer data while researching attack vectors and quantifying threats to GPU configuration, performance, and operational integrity. - Deliver architectural specifications to hardware, software, and firmware development teams, and review architecture proposals from internal and external sources. - Perform design and threat analysis across firmware and hardware to ensure security quality and robustness. - Architect GPU algorithms to improve GPU security without compromising performance, leveraging AI tools to help identify and resolve security issues. - Provide cross-functional debug support to execution teams through silicon bring-up and guide teams in adhering to GPU security guidelines. - Partner with SoC, IP, RTL, Physical Design, Software, and Bring-up teams to track security trends and align requirements.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. - Demonstrated experience in threat modeling, access-path analysis, and GPU or computer architecture security. - Technical understanding of security mechanisms protecting register access, firmware interfaces, configuration controls, and customer data. - Ability to write architectural specifications and deliver cross-functional guidance to HW, SW, and Firmware execution teams.
Nice to have
- Relevant work experience focused on computer architecture and security, with an understanding of factors influencing register and firmware access protections at chip, system, and product levels. - Knowledge of RTL design and/or verification. - Experience with computing and graphics architecture, GPU security/power/performance trade-offs, and graphics shader behavior. - Knowledge of machine learning, AI usage, and threat modeling tools. - Experience tackling multi-variable problems via system-level modeling, testing and characterization, trend analysis/projection, and model verification.
