About the role
This role involves supporting lab testing activities for ultra-high-speed network communication devices. You will focus on the characterization and validation of Serial - De-serializer (SerDes) transceivers in System-on-Chip (SOC) designs for electrical and optical applications.
What you'll do
- Assist in characterization and validation of ultra-high-speed interfaces.
- Be involved with electrical and/or optical characterization activities of products targeted for AI and data center applications.
- Work with instrumentation and equipment to build complex test fixtures.
- Leverage analytical and creative thinking to develop test solutions to meet industry standards such as IEEE 802.3 and OIF.
- Develop scripts and tools for device configuration, test routines, instrumentation control, and data collection.
What you'll need
- Familiarity with Python and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Interest or experience in working with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, signal analyzers, VNAs, AWGs, VOAs, OSAs, and power meters.
- Interest in high-speed interfaces.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Availability from May/June 2027 - August/September 2028 for 16-month internships.
- Expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.
- 1 year of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python.

- Experience using Git or other version control software.
