About the role
This role involves the lab validation and characterization of image sensor products, ensuring functionality and performance against specifications. You will rely on FPGA prototyping and silicon for validation in an Imaging Validation department.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans based on product specifications and architecture requirements.
- Verify sensor features including Exposure Control, Gain Control, HDR Operation, Global Shutter, Rolling Shutter Functionality, Region of Interest (ROI), Binning, Sub-Sampling Modes, Defect Pixel Correction, Embedded Data Functions, Synchronization, Trigger Mechanisms, Multi-Camera Operation, and Cybersecurity.
- Validate sensor configuration registers and firmware interactions.
- Perform feature, integration, system-level, regression, stress, and corner-case testing.
- Analyze failures and drive root-cause investigations with design and firmware teams.
- Participate in project meetings, sharing information, actions, and priorities within the team.
- Propose and participate in methods and tools for improvements within the validation team.
What you'll need
- Strong expertise in Camera Image Sensors, Imaging Pipelines, Sensor Characterization, High-Speed Interface Validation, and Embedded Systems.
- Experience with Python-based Automation.
- Knowledge of Object-oriented programming languages (preferably Python, C).
- Experience with version management tools (git, svn).
- Software and Hardware knowledge with debug capabilities.
- Knowledge of Embedded electronics/computing (real time).
- Proficiency with laboratory tools (oscilloscope, signal generator).
- Knowledge of Transmission protocols: I2C, I3C, SPI, MIPI, DP, eDP.
- Experience with Automation and/or continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Gerrit).
