Join a team creating high impact micro-controllers (MCU).
About the role
This role involves FPGA-based prototyping and emulation of complex SoC designs for micro-controllers (MCU). The position focuses on optimizing and automating emulation infrastructure to enable hardware, software, firmware, and validation teams.
What you'll do
- Develop, bring-up, and maintain pre-silicon Emulation/FPGA-based prototyping platforms (e.g., HAPS-100, Veloce, Palladium, ZeBU).
- Integrate and debug RTL blocks on FPGA platforms (e.g., Xilinx, Intel/Altera).
- Optimize FPGA resource usage and timing closure for large-scale designs.
- Support software teams with early hardware access through emulation/prototyping.
- Automate build and deployment flows using Python, Tcl, and Shell scripting languages.
- Define test strategy, create test plans, and develop tests for functional and performance requirements.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in emulation/FPGA prototyping.
- Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals.
- Experience with Verilog/System Verilog and working knowledge of C/C++.
- Experience with FPGA tools such as Vivado, Quartus, Synplify.
- Familiarity with emulation platforms like Veloce, HAPS-100, Palladium, or Zebu.

How we counted: 938 open Digital/RTL Design (RTL Design) roles from 101 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 21 Sept 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row. Figures refresh nightly.
