About the role
Veeco is seeking a Field Service Engineer responsible for installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of Veeco Annealing and Lithography equipment.
What you'll do
- Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment following customer and Veeco safety and security protocols. - Isolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective action. - Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs. - Serve as the onsite contact for equipment, technical, and field support, and develop customer relationships to ensure retention. - Document all tool actions, events, and daily activities in field service reports. - Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies while working under support deadlines.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical area plus a minimum of 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (technical military training and experience welcomed). - Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer controls. - Demonstrated system integration, test, and debug skills. - Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing, use standard hand tools, and wear a cleanroom suit or PPE for several hours. - Ability to travel up to 85% of the time within North America, with occasional international travel.
Nice to have
- Experience with Semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
