About the role
As a Field Service Engineer at Applied Materials, you will serve as the direct liaison with customers to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. The role supports Process, Diagnostics, and Control (PDC) systems using digital analytics and diagnostic techniques for semiconductor customer equipment.
What you'll do
- Install, maintain, and upgrade customer semiconductor equipment.
- Apply diagnostic techniques and digital analytics to assess equipment and address technical issues.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
- Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers and customers to understand roadmaps, process flows, inflection points, and requirements.
- Train and mentor junior Field Service Engineers.
- Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to maintain operations.
What you'll need
- Completion of an Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
- 4-7 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or other equipment support industry.
- Familiarity with scanning electron microscope (SEM).
- Mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and/or thermodynamics.
- Knowledge of hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimeters.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport.
- Ability to work in a clean room using Personal Protective Equipment and meet physical on-site requirements.
