About the role
As a Field Service Engineer at Applied Materials, you will serve as the direct customer liaison to install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
What you'll do
- Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment while coordinating directly with customers. - Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. - Apply diagnostic techniques and use digital analytics to assess equipment and troubleshoot technical issues. - Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers and customers to understand roadmaps, process flows, and technical requirements. - Train and mentor junior Field Service Engineers.
What you'll need
- Completion of an Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification. - 4-7 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or equipment support industry. - Familiarity with scanning electron microscope (SEM). - Advanced mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and/or thermodynamics. - Knowledge of hand tools and their usage, including digital multimeters. - Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport if travel is required.
