About the role
The Field Service Engineer provides onsite field service support through installations, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance of complex capital equipment and systems. This role focuses on Cymer equipment within the Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) laser division.
What you'll do
- Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot Cymer equipment problems via telephone or at customer sites.
- Perform installation, repair, retrofits, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on Cymer equipment.
- Maintain an assigned installation equipment base, including primary support and customer communication.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting, analysis, and debugging in support of installation or operating activities.
- Complete service, expense reports, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Travel as required for performing service activities at customer sites.
What you'll need
- Three (3) years of field service engineering experience or relevant work experience.
- Ability to analyze data and report problems, and to communicate technical issues to other technical staff.
- Ability to collect, translate, and analyze data.
- Intermediate level of technical knowledge of electronics.
- Ability to apply advanced knowledge of installation, maintenance/repair, and troubleshooting at both module and system level.
- Ability to read and analyze opto-mechanical and electronic schematics.
- Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic e-mail systems, LabView, and Internet.
- Oral and written English language skills.
Nice to have
- Some college education or similar Military / vocational experiences.
- One (1) year experience in optics, laser, and/or semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Laser and vacuum experience.
- Experience leading one installation or significantly contributing to successful installations at multiple sites.
