About the role
Veeco is seeking a Field Service Engineer responsible for installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of Veeco Laser Annealing and Lithography equipment. Based in greater Austin, TX, this role requires up to 85% travel across North America with occasional international travel.
What you'll do
- Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment following customer and Veeco safety and security protocols.
- Isolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions, taking appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs.
- Serve as the onsite contact for tool actions, technical inquiries, and field support communications.
- Document all tool actions, events, and daily activities in field service reports.
- Adhere strictly to company safety, cleanroom, and confidentiality policies.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical area with a minimum of 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, or military technical training.
- Working knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer controls.
- Demonstrated system integration, test, and debug skills.
- Ability to travel up to 85% within North America, with occasional international travel.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, perform repetitive tasks sitting or standing, use standard hand tools, and wear a cleanroom suit or personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
Nice to have
- Experience with semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
