About the role
This senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) role serves as the primary technical interface between Wolfspeed and East Coast customers, driving SiC design wins from design-in through high-volume production. This position coordinates technical alignment across Americas, EMEA, and APAC for Wolfspeed SiC programs and supports AI / Data Center high-efficiency power opportunities.
What you'll do
- Act as the global technical lead for assigned East Coast customers supporting Wolfspeed SiC programs.
- Provide system-level guidance on SiC MOSFET and module implementation, switching optimization, and gate drive design.
- Support automotive-grade qualification and reliability requirements (AEC-Q, PPAP, mission profiles).
- Drive platform-level opportunities and promote design reuse across Automotive, Energy, and AI infrastructure programs.
- Collaborate with Device Engineering, Product Marketing, Quality & Reliability, and Operations (Mohawk Valley production ramp) teams.
- Lead technical design reviews, workshops, and failure analysis discussions with customers.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in power electronics applications, FAE, or system design roles.
- Expertise in SiC MOSFETs and power modules.
- Expertise in high-voltage power conversion (400V–1200V+).
- Expertise in thermal and switching performance optimization.
- Experience supporting Automotive, Industrial Power, or Data Center applications.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Automotive qualification processes (AEC-Q, ISO 26262).
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing ramp and capacity-constrained environments.
- Experience with AI data center power supply architectures.
- Background in reliability analysis, mission profile evaluation, or field failure diagnostics.
