About the role
As a Fabrication Technician, you will perform wafer fabrication functions in the production of semiconductor devices, operating equipment across alignment, masking, etch, and diffusion stages. The role involves handling fragile GaAs wafers, precious metals, and wet chemistries on a designated night shift schedule.
What you'll do
- Operate equipment to execute various stages of the wafer fabrication process following documented procedures.
- Perform alignment, masking, etch, and diffusion operations while measuring and recording critical parameters.
- Handle fragile GaAs wafers and precious metals, including gold and platinum.
- Mix hazardous and non-hazardous wet chemistries according to safety specifications.
- Visually inspect wafers and materials to identify and record quality defects.
- Maintain proper documentation and log production data into computer-based applications.
What you'll need
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Direct experience and knowledge of overall wafer fab operational proficiency, including processes, tools, and flows.
- Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite.
- Ability to adhere to cleanroom protocols, wear PPE for extended periods, and stand for long periods to perform repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity to use tools such as pliers, large tweezers, and handheld scanners, and ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Nice to have
- Prior semiconductor manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of cleanroom practices and protocols.
- Problem solving abilities to troubleshoot equipment and processes.
