About the role
This role involves performing process development work, small scale engineering runs, and scale down of operational issues within the Scale-up and Manufacturing Readiness team. This position focuses on synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and chemical engineering within new product development.
What you'll do
- Execute air sensitive experiments to develop and optimize chemical processes as per an experimental plan.
- Record and document experiments, observations, and results.
- Perform analysis of process samples using NMR, GC, HPLC.
- Provide input and feedback for scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot and manufacturing environments, including control strategies and operating windows.
- Identify and convey process risks.
- Assist with scale down activities for process issues during development and production campaigns.
- Support process characterization and process robustness studies.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Synthetic Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in process development, process scale-up, manufacturing, laboratory, or pilot plant environments.
- Experience with pilot plant operations, chemical processing equipment, and laboratory or bench-scale work.
- Knowledge of process safety methodologies and the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
- Strong analytical, data analysis, modeling, and problem-solving skills.
