About the role
As an Engineering Technician at KLA Corporation, you will assemble, calibrate, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optical systems within the Central Engineering organization. The work focuses on sub-micron level motion systems consisting of wafer positioning stages, chucks, and air bearings.
What you'll do
- Assemble and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optical assemblies.
- Perform set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical assemblies consisting of bearings, linear guides, air bearings, and pneumatic components.
- Assemble sub-micron level motion systems consisting of wafer positioning stages, chucks, and air bearings.
- Connect and troubleshoot electrical components including electric motors, electrical cables, and motion controllers.
- Run software diagnostic scripts to collect data from hardware and prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommended solutions.
- Work with design engineers to execute assembly and test according to test plans, creating assembly, testing, and troubleshooting procedures.
What you'll need
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of related experience.
- Hands-on experience assembling mechanical parts such as machined parts, mechanical bearings, linear guides, or air bearings.
- Hands-on experience with pneumatic components such as pneumatic fittings, air flow meters, and venturis.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot software-driven systems, including running software diagnostic scripts.
- General computer proficiency using tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Nice to have
- Experience aligning laser interferometers and auto-collimators.
- Experience with precision position measurement sensors such as cap sensors or optical encoders.
