About the role
This role involves preparing STEM/TEM samples and imaging them in Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) within the SEM Lab in Tualatin, supporting Lam’s engineering and development efforts. You will primarily use Thermo Fisher Helios systems and may also perform FIB-SEM analysis.
What you'll do
- Prepare STEM/TEM samples consistent with quality standards.
- Optimize personal workflow for efficient throughput of samples.
- Communicate with lab management to provide work completion time estimates.
- Provide feedback to lab management for continuous improvement opportunities in lab workflows.
- Communicate with team members to ensure alignment on methodologies.
- Protect customer material and IP at all times.
What you'll need
- 2+ years of experience with a BS degree in a physical science, or an AS degree or equivalent professional training on materials science and analytical techniques.
- Experience operating dual beam FIB/SEM tools, especially in the preparation of thin lamella for STEM or TEM imaging.
- Ability to work a shift schedule.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry.
- Experience in customer IP protection and sample handling.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a physical science.
- Associate degree with complementary work experience.
- Experience in semiconductor experience.
