About the role

Responsible for daily operations, maintenance, and infrastructure support across MBE product and R&D engineering labs. The role focuses on PCB rework, hardware debugging, and server infrastructure support in Santa Clara.

What you'll do

  • Install, configure, and maintain lab-specific hardware and software applications used by research teams.
  • Perform PCB board-level debugging, rework, component replacement, soldering/desoldering, and hardware verification activities.
  • Support mechanical socket installation, repair, alignment, and fixing for server and validation platforms.
  • Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, and functional verification of engineering samples and prototype systems.
  • Troubleshoot power distribution units (PDUs), networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching), and hardware-related issues using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Manage asset and hardware inventory using GLPI, maintain documentation of setups and rework procedures, and coordinate with remote engineering teams.

What you'll need

  • 3–5 years of related experience in an engineering lab environment.
  • Hands-on experience with fine-pitch soldering, BGA rework, connector replacement, and SMT component rework using soldering and hot air rework stations.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, board layouts, assembly drawings, and hardware documentation, alongside PCB failure analysis and signal tracing.
  • Experience with hardware modifications including jumper rework, trace cuts, patch wire implementations, and replacing damaged sockets, connectors, resistors, capacitors, and IC components.
  • In-depth knowledge of System/OS-level TCP/IP networking, Linux, and Windows server administration.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, rack-mount servers, connect cabling, and work inside a data center environment.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with IPC standards and electronic assembly/rework best practices.
