About the role
This role supports the research and development of detector characterization methods within KLA's Broadband Plasma (BBP) division in Milpitas, CA. The position focuses on characterization and analysis of optical detectors in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectral region for semiconductor inspection systems.
What you'll do
- Support research and development of detector characterization methods for optical inspection technologies. - Conduct experimental testing of optical detectors and execute measurement workflows. - Perform data acquisition and data analysis to improve characterization methodologies and test efficiency. - Evaluate key detector performance parameters, including photon transfer characteristics, quantum efficiency, and quantum yield in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectral region.
What you'll need
- Less than 1 year of related experience.
Nice to have
- Currently pursuing a degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field. - Fundamental knowledge of optics, cameras, image sensors, or detector characterization principles. - Experience with experimental data collection, analysis, and visualization using Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar tools. - Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation, optical measurements, detector handling, or related experimental techniques. - Familiarity with scientific data analysis, statistical methods, and measurement uncertainty evaluation.
