Design high-speed serial communications ICs including TIAs, CDRs, and laser drivers in BiCMOS and CMOS technologies.
About the role
MACOM is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer-Senior to define, design, and bring to production mixed-signal integrated circuits for serial communications within the High Performance Connectivity team. The role covers the complete product development flow from block definition through qualification.
What you'll do
- Define, design, and bring to production mixed-signal integrated circuits for serial communications. - Contribute across the complete IC development flow from initial architecture and block definition to qualification. - Execute analog and mixed-signal simulations using Spectre, VerilogA/VHDL, AMS, Ultrasim, and Matlab. - Evaluate, debug, and characterize prototype silicon in the laboratory using test equipment.
What you'll need
- MSEE with a minimum of 5 years of analog design experience of high-frequency/high-speed blocks in BiCMOS and/or CMOS technologies. - Demonstrated track record of silicon success in blocks or products such as Gbps TIAs, equalizers, laser drivers, CDRs, PLLs, ADCs, and DACs. - Solid understanding of analog and high-frequency design fundamentals, with proficiency in EDA design tools. - Hands-on experience with lab equipment including real-time and sampling scopes, signal and pattern generators, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs for prototype evaluation and debug.
Skills: BiCMOS, TIAs, laser drivers, CDRs, equalizers, ADS

How we counted: 314 open Analog IC Design (Analog Design) roles from 52 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 28 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
