About the role
As an Electro-Optic Systems Lead, you will sit at the intersection of integrated photonics, integrated electronics, hardware, and AI teams to ensure subsystems integrate into prototypes and products. You will oversee technical system-level models, simulations, and programmatic interfaces for commercial and government customer interactions.
What you'll do
- Coordinate across integrated photonics, integrated electronics, hardware, and AI teams to align system-level interfaces, timelines, and technical dependencies. - Drive cross-team hardware projects from kickoff through completion while identifying and resolving technical and organizational bottlenecks. - Guide engineering teams in collecting validation data and developing system-level models and simulations to verify performance. - Serve as a primary technical and programmatic point of contact for government and commercial customers, creating technical briefings, progress reports, and program reviews. - Translate system-level requirements into scoped technical tasks and milestone-based execution plans covering scheduling, resources, and risk management. - Support proposal writing and technical documentation for government and commercial business activities.
What you'll need
- Prior technical experience with photonic systems in a hardware or deep-tech environment. - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or a related field. - Experience building system-level models or simulations. - Direct experience applying systems engineering practices such as requirements definition, verification planning, or cross-team technical coordination. - Demonstrated technical experience spanning multiple engineering disciplines across hardware teams.
Nice to have
- Experience working on DARPA or other government-funded R&D programs. - Background in integrated photonics, semiconductors, or related hardware domains. - Startup or small-team experience.
