About the role
This role involves owning the robot's power system, including battery, power distribution, and wiring harness. The focus is on developing a full-size humanoid robot capable of walking and working.
What you'll do
- Design a robust battery pack, including cell selection, architecture, and battery management (protection, monitoring, charging).
- Design robot-wide power distribution, covering bus architecture, regeneration handling, fusing, and pre-charge.
- Own the safety chain, including e-stop, contactors, and fault disconnection paths.
- Design and route the full wiring harness (power and communication) through joints and limbs.
- Define connectors and cabling for high-flex, high-current robot use.
- Integrate compute and sensor power domains (Jetson, cameras, IMU).
- Validate the power system under real locomotion loads; instrument and measure.
What you'll need
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years in system-level electrical design for robotics, automotive, drones, or battery-powered machines.
- Hands-on experience with Li-ion battery pack design and BMS integration.
- Experience with high-current DC power distribution and protection design.
- Practical harness design experience: routing, strain relief, connectors for moving mechanisms.
- Strong lab skills and a safety-driven working culture.
