About the role
Skyworks' Electrical CAD Engineer Internships are offered in the High Performance Analog business group for college students enrolled in an accredited degree program. Interns work on high-speed, power, and RF board designs using engineering CAD tools.
What you'll do
- Create and modify detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software for high-speed, power, and RF board designs.
- Review schematics, circuits, current flow, and impedance control across board implementations.
- Contribute design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or product quality.
- Check design plots against project inputs for correctness and conformance to IPC standards, including IPC Standard 6011 and 6012.
- Collaborate with engineers regarding model accuracy, drafting standards, and ECN/ECR documentation.
- Maintain system management tasks, including file maintenance, backup, and storage.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Systems Engineering with a GPA of 3.25 or above.
- Experience using Altium Designer for PCB layout and schematic design.
- Proficiency in Advanced Design System (ADS) for RF/microwave circuit simulation.
- Familiarity with AWR Design Environment for RF and microwave design projects.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks for mechanical component modeling and design.
- Coursework and lab experience using Cadence/Allegro for IC and PCB design.
- Programming proficiency in Python, C, and C++ for engineering applications and data analysis, alongside working knowledge of SQL.
