Develop and optimize 28nm Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) models and DFM solutions for analog and embedded processing technologies.
About the role
As a DFM RET Engineer in Texas Instruments' Advanced Technology Development (ATD) organization, you are responsible for bridging the gap between layout designs and wafer printability. This position focuses on computational lithography and deploying Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) models and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) solutions for 28nm analog and embedded processing technologies.
What you'll do
- Develop, evaluate, and implement advanced OPC models and recipes for 28nm and equivalent advanced node technologies. - Perform comprehensive DFM analysis on product designs, identifying and mitigating potential manufacturing issues such as hotspots and yield detractors. - Collaborate with design teams to define DFM guidelines and ensure layout compliance with manufacturing capabilities. - Work with lithography and process engineering teams to optimize OPC recipes and improve patterning performance, yield, and process window. - Interface with OPC and lithography engineers to co-optimize layout structures for printability. - Analyze lithography process data and wafer yield data to identify root causes of patterning defects and drive corrective actions.
What you'll need
- Experience in computational lithography, Resolution Enhancement Techniques (RET), and Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) model development. - Hands-on expertise performing DFM analysis and hotspot mitigation on layout designs. - Background working with lithography and process engineering to optimize recipes, process windows, and wafer yield. - Ability to develop and maintain automation scripts for OPC/DFM flows. - Experience with 28nm or equivalent advanced node semiconductor manufacturing processes.

How we counted: 1052 open Process Engineering (Semiconductor Process) roles from 56 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 26 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Process, Fab & Equipment family row.
