About the role
This role supports both design and process engineering activities within the R&D group, focusing on new thin film coating applications. You will gain hands-on experience developing equipment and tooling, and improving manufacturing and engineering processes.
What you'll do
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Partner with process engineers to develop equipment, tooling, and process solutions.
- Assist with the development, revision, and maintenance of process documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to the evaluation and implementation of mechanical design improvements.
- Coordinate with external suppliers and internal resources to procure components.
- Support hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of prototypes, fixtures, and equipment improvements.
What you'll need
- Proficiency with SolidWorks design and drafting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Major in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related field.
- Expected graduation in 2027 or 2028.
- Currently enrolled student available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June.
