About the role

AMD is seeking a Data Center Technical Due Diligence & Assurance Engineer to assess and validate high-density data center infrastructure. The role supports the infrastructure lifecycle from technical due diligence before capacity commitment through technical assurance, commissioning, and Ready for Service (RFS), involving engineering analysis, documentation review, onsite infrastructure validation, commissioning review, and troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, cooling, energy, controls, reliability, and critical infrastructure systems.

What you'll do

  • Perform desktop and onsite technical due diligence of proposed data center facilities.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, equipment data, studies, and test reports.
  • Evaluate utility power, substations, MV/LV electrical distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and power distribution.
  • Assess cooling architecture, including chillers, pumps, cooling loops, direct liquid cooling, CDUs, manifolds, and heat-rejection systems.
  • Identify technical risks, design gaps, dependencies, and corrective actions.
  • Investigate infrastructure issues, analyze root causes, and develop or evaluate technical resolutions.

What you'll need

  • Ability to analyze complex infrastructure systems and evaluate engineering evidence.
  • Experience reviewing engineering documentation and investigating technical issues.
  • Experience with onsite infrastructure validation of power, cooling, controls, and critical infrastructure.
  • Approximately five or more years of relevant experience in data centers, critical facilities, or industrial infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel to data center locations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with data center electrical infrastructure such as substations, MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and generators.
  • Experience with mechanical and cooling infrastructure such as chillers, pumps, cooling loops, heat rejection, or liquid cooling.
  • Familiarity with high-density infrastructure technologies such as DLC, CDUs, manifolds, BMS, and EPMS.
  • Knowledge of utility power and/or behind-the-meter technologies such as reciprocating engines, gas turbines, or fuel cells.
  • Experience with data center commissioning and integrated systems testing.
  • Background in evidence-based troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical risk assessment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication of technical findings and recommended actions.
